Schubert's “Unfinished Symphony” remains an enigma. Ever since its première in 1865, music lovers have asked, to no avail, how any work of such perfection could remain a fragment. With its consummate lyricism, epic expanses and jewelled craftsmanship, it not only marks a bold leap in Schubert`s own development but a turning point in the history of the Symphony. Now it is available as performance material based on the New Schubert Edition.
