The repertoire of Yiddish folk musicians -the klezmorim – ranges from wedding tunes and love songs to sacred music. For this volume Peter Goden has drawn together 14 Yiddish songs of contrasting character and arranged them for two treble recorders. The rhythmic and melodic difficulties make these pieces suitable even for more advanced beginners. The collection forms an ideal introduction to klezmer music with its captivating aura of gentle melancholy.
