"The Sound of Water" is a deeply personal string quartet inspired by the composer's enduring fascination with the waters surrounding Michigan's Keweenaw Peninsula and Isle Royale National Park. More than twenty years after a residency on Isle Royale changed the course of her life, this work celebrates the endlessly varied sounds of water experienced from the shore, while swimming, and from the seat of a kayak.
