The first printed edition of this early Messiaen work, composed in 1933 when the composer was 25 years old.
“Éditions Durand...does a wonderful job of providing a clear, easy-to-read score, with helpful cues and easy page turns...Overall, the Fantaisie is an exhilirating work bounding with intensity from start to finish. For the college-level player and beyond, it would make for an exciting and novel recital piece, and could also serve as a great entree into the world of a true innovator of 20th-century music.”--Strings magazine
