The poem “Christmas Eve” by Christina Rossetti provides the reader with a gentle, lyrical view of the coming of Jesus Christ into the world at Christmas. Written for use in church services, pairing the organ with the voice in a setting that depicts the dark, wintry aspects of Rossetti’s poetic scene as well as the light associated with the joy of the Christ child arriving.
