Coordinated with Bradley Ellingboe's pioneering book, Forty-Five Songs of Edvard Grieg, this anthology provides all of the piano accompaniments to the forty-five songs in the above volume. In addition, a complete chronological listing of Grieg's piano accompanied songs, by opus numbers, is given in the appendix.
Both volumes contain Ellingboe's English singing translations of the Danish and Norwegian texts, making them only "once removed" from their original languages for those singers who prefer to perform the songs in English. Now, with these two volumes, the singer has the phonetic, linguistic and musical tools that will enable him/her to sing and understand the original languages of Grieg's beautiful songs with confidence.
