Fontyn: Strophes

Strophes is an ode to friendship and to those shared moments of memory that weave connections between souls. The piece is dedicated to Pierre and Marcelle Hasaerts—two generous, music-loving spirits who, when Jacqueline Fontyn was a young pianist, opened both their hearts and their hotel La Charmille to her.

In the dance-like interplay between violin and piano, the atmosphere of that enchanted summer in Tiège-lez-Spa is captured—when music echoed through the halls of La Charmille, and every note played became another step in a friendship that would last a lifetime. Strophes is a tribute to friendship—music that dances between memory and the present, between nostalgia and hope.
