An evocative, nature-inspired electroacoustic work for soloist and fixed media, this work is inspired by Sophora secundiflora (Texas mountain laurel), an evergreen native to the limestone regions of the American Southwest. Known for its glossy foliage, lavender blooms, and distinctive grape-like fragrance, the plant presents a striking contrast between beauty and toxicity--its vivid red seeds contain a powerful alkaloid once used in ceremonial contexts. Part documentary, part techno house, this work blends virtuosic performance with synthwave grooves.
