Brahms: Two Rhapsodies, Opus 79 for the Piano

These two noble and heroic rhapsodies are among Johannes Brahms's best-known works. This Alfred edition is based on the composer's personal copies of the first edition. Dr. Hinson offers valuable performance suggestions along with editorial fingerings and pedal markings, clearly distinguished from the composer's indications as described in the foreword and footnotes. Pianists with small hands may find the first rhapsody somewhat challenging.
