As Schütz wrote in his foreword to the collection, all parts to the motets can be performed vocally and/or instrumentally. These motets offer smaller choirs and ensembles new possibilities to perform these works, based on historically-informed performance practice.
The basso continuo realization follows the composer’s intention of using the score merely as a basis for performance, but with its relatively simple realization, it also allows performers to create their own version.
- Reflecting the latest research based on the “New Schütz Edition”
- Instrumental parts (strings, winds) available as PoD
- Geistliche Chor-Music now available complete in two volumes
