Vol. 2 Short Organ Works; Essay on Price's use of the organ and specifications for organs she may have played

Florence Price was born in Little Rock, Arkansas, and spent most of her professional life in Chicago, Illinois. She was the first Black American woman symphonist in 1933, when her first of four symphonies was played by the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Frederick Stock, conductor. She composed a large catalogue of works, including other orchestral music, piano concerto, 2 violin concertos, choral works, songs, spiritual arrangements, chamber music, a piano sonata and other piano works, organ music, and many piano teaching pieces. She was a pianist and organist.
