The double bass is usually responsible for the harmonic foundation and rhythm in dance. Here dance pieces for fiddle and jazz solos with the bass as a solo instrument are used for the first time. Numerous traditional dance fiddle pieces such as jigs or hornpipes from Scotland, England and the USA as well as three newly composed jazz solos let the bass sound in the foreground.
This booklet is intended to serve as a game and accompanying booklet for double bass lessons. It can also be used for the normal concert program as well as playing in the traditional pub. The range extends up to the seventh position.
There is still hardly any chamber music for the double bass and if there is, it is not suitable for students because of its level of difficulty. An alternative is now offered here.
Most pieces have a chord designation, so that accompaniment with guitar, piano or a band can easily be achieved.
