Philippe Hirschhorn (1946-1996), one of the most incredible violinists, was a close friend of Victor Kissine. The “Madrigal” for five violins was written as a tribute to him. It was premiered by his students Janine Jansen, David Grimal, Shirly Laub, Frédéric d'Ursel and Giovanni Fabris on November 26, 1998 at the Palais des Beaux Arts in Brussels and recorded by the same violinists in 2001.
