Corrected reprint of the 1984 edition by Manfred Grabs. Revised and annotated for the International Hanns Eisler Society by Peter Deeg.
Though originally conceived as part of a series of pedagogical music, Eisler intendedthis work not for children but for music students and young composers. He wanted to demonstrate to them "that it is possible to make music in a simple, easily comprehensible, logical way using the twelve-tone technique", though on first hearing itsounds nothing like twelve-tone music. Critical commentary in German only.
