Description
Felix Battanchon (1814–1893) lived in Paris and had been known as an excellent solo cello player as well as a member of the orchestra of the grand opera.
Battanchon’s compositions for violoncello, which have an instructive character, are very significant and part of violoncello lessons to this day. By reprinting the present duets, op. 7 in three books, the students are given material which helps improving bowing techniques. These studies are characterized by a fluent style.
